![]() Here is a quick description and cover image of book There Are No Saints (Sinners Duet, #1) written by Sophie Lark which was published in October 20, 2021. Sophie did an amazing job writing this.Brief Summary of Book: There Are No Saints (Sinners Duet, #1) by Sophie Lark This is the exact reason I read for these kind of books. The connection and chemistry between Mara and Cole is unlike anything, Cole is a guy that always is calculated, puts on different mask around people and thinks before he does anything, but he loses all control whenever he is around Mara. Cole is someone who doesn’t have any feelings but he is experiencing something he hasn’t before when it comes to Mara. There is this charm about him that everyone is attracted to and Sophie has a way of drawing you into him. ![]() Cole gives me very much Joe vibes from YOU, he was an interesting character and was very interesting to get inside his head. She has created this character who is a literal serial killer, an anti hero, but there is something about him that draws you in and find something redeeming. She has somehow written about these characters so well and in so much detailed that words cannot describe it. It's all you could want in a book and more. This book has everything in it from suspense to dark romance to mystery. When I read the first few chapters of the book I was genuinely shocked with how well written it was and I just had to keep reading. It was amazing! It's one of my first Sophie Lark books and her writing is just phenomenal, the way that she writes it makes you feel as though you are emerged in the book and you just get lost in it. This is probably one of the best books that I have ever read. The tension, the push and pull and the steam between Cole and Mara was everything and so very addictive. The ending was a slight cliffhanger but nothing that was too sharply cut off however I still found myself eagerly wanting more of Cole and Mara’s story immediately after finishing.Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this darkly sensual and captivating read of madness and anti-hero love. I’ve never read such an obsessive, toxic and manipulative relationship that just…works so well. Cole on the other hand was very callous and manipulative being a major anti-hero who took some warming up to but I appreciated reading his perspective and being given the opportunity inside his maddened mind. The romance was off the charts. The representation she held in regards to sensory sensitivities was also very important. Mara is one of my favourite heroines simply because of how much I could relate to her. I’ve also always be fascinated with true crime so I really appreciated how those aspects were interweaved within the perfectly written and impactful storytelling. The characters were some of the best I’ve ever read being extremely broken, complex and real. I definitely expected more action however I’m not disappointed by the events that occurred. This serial killer romance truly gripped me from the very beginning and took me on a crazy journey full of suspense, drama, competition, rivalry and obsessive love. It contains extremely dark and triggering themes so reader discretion is advised.Personally…I absolutely adored Cole and Mara’s story as it was a pleasant surprise. Okay…to begin this review I want to clearly state that this book is definitely not for everyone. This is a steamy serial killer romance that will take you on a journey through the twisted mind of an artist on the brink of madness. Reader be warned: this book contains extremely dark themes that might be triggering to some. ![]() Come on this darkly sensual and utterly brain-bending ride with me! - Sophie "There Are No Saints” is the first book in the Sinners Duet. Redeeming a character who starts so evil was a challenge that inspired me to entirely new heights and entirely new depths. A serial killer is, of course, the ultimate anti-hero - the baddest of the bad boys. Cole is teaching Mara to get what she wants… what does he want in return? The Lark Notes : I have always been fascinated by true crime, as well as by villains and anti-heroes. ![]() Mara knows he’s dangerous, but Cole is the only person who’s ever recognized her talent. Cole becomes obsessed with Mara, breaking the rules that keep his true nature hidden. He starts stalking her, realizing there’s more to the struggling misfit than he ever would have guessed. When Mara escapes what appears to be certain death, Cole is intrigued. A chance encounter throws Mara into Cole’s path. Broke and damaged, she works three jobs while creating paintings no one will ever see. His only weakness is the dark impulse he carefully conceals… Mara Eldritch is a nobody. He’s the hottest sculptor in San Francisco, wealthy, successful, and respected. ![]()
